It has been almost six years in the making, but my new book BEER IN THE NETHERLANDS 2 is finally out. And I like to think it has been worth the wait.
The fully revised and updated second edition of the acclaimed comprehensive guide to Dutch beer carries personal reviews of around 700 brewing companies, thousands of beers and more than 550 specialist bier cafés and take home suppliers.
It provides invaluable insider’s tips for readers on where to go, how to get there, and what to order when you arrive. And it will help both first-time visitors to find the best beer destinations, and old hands and residents to discover new beery favourites.
The book covers the whole Dutch beer spectrum from brewery taps and brewpubs, to cosy brown cafés and spectacular beer emporia, as well as offering a guide to the country itself and to its best beer festivals. It takes the reader through the rapidly evolving local scene, from Aalten to Zwolle and many off-the-beaten-track places in between.
Whether you’re visiting for a city break, touring the country by bike, or simply looking to try something new, my guide will become a trusted companion helping you to (re)discover some unexpected corners of a fascinating beer country.

Do you know when it will be available in the US? Loved the first addition.
Hi Dave,
Thanks for your message. I’m afraid I don’t have any direct distribution in the US, only books posted from the Netherlands or the UK.
I can post you a book ordered through this website, but Dutch customs changed their rules about posting packages outside Europe on January 1, which means I now have to charge an outrageous 18 euros to cover postage.
Take a look at the UK website beerinnprint.co.uk – they are a trusted supplier of my books and I think they can ship to the US for a lot less than I can offer you.
Tim
